BIO

Born in Detroit, Michigan on November 12, 1956, Bill was trained in Pro Wrestling by Kurt Von Steiger in 1973 and had his first match as a professional on June 16, 1974 in Tucson, Arizona.

Since that time Bill has wrestled on several tours of Japan for the FMW Promotion, wrestled in Canada, and virtually every state in the United States.  During his wrestling days in Mexico, Bill held the W.W.A. World Heavyweight Championship for over one year, and as the American Masked Mercenaries with Louie Spicoli and Tim Patterson.  They were the W.W.A World Trio's Champions for over three years!

Bill also found time to become one of the top ring announcers in the business, performing such duties for the WWF and various independent promotions in Los Angeles, New York City, Seattle, Tampa, Honolulu, Tokyo, Japan, Mexico City, and Seoul, South Korea.  Another highlight of Bill's life has been his acting career!  With over a dozen films to his credit as an actor or stuntman.  Bill thanks Gene LeBell for much of his Hollywood success!

Along the way Bill felt an urge to give something back to this great sport.  He opened up his Bill Anderson School Of Wrestling in 1984!  Along with veteran Red Bastein, trained Sting, The Ultimate Warrior, Angel of Death, and Strangler Steve DiSalvo in 1985!  Since then, Bill has trained over 200 men and women wrestlers all over the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Japan.  In March of 1996 Bill became a born again Christian.  He has performed and given testimonies at wrestling events and churches with "Superstar" Billy Graham, Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Ted DiBiase, and Nikita Koloff.  A couple of years ago he spent 10 days in India, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Japan doing missionary work for Athletes International Ministries.

Retired now from active wrestling, except for the occasional match, Bill spends his days running one of the top wrestling schools in the country and golfing with son Audie!  Bill feels his greatest accomplishment in wrestling has been the countless friendships that mean so much to him!
